Although our water systems do contain a carbon block filter inside of them, their primary function is not filtration or purification but rather ionization. There’s a huge difference between filtering and ionizing.

Filtration removes unhealthy elements and particulates from the water. Different filters take out different things - sediment, odor, chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides, etc. Filtration is what is going to clean the water.

Ionization involves a process called electrolysis that changes the molecular structure and properties of the water.
