Should You Drink Distilled Water?

Should you drink distilled water and can it be good for you?

Distilled water has been here forever, but it was never meant to be drinking water.

It is used in medicine, humidifiers, canned food, cars, and other purposes, but it was never meant to be your daily drinking water.

Usually, we use it to make sure our devices, like iron, will not clog up, but there are people who are advocating for distilled water as the best water out there, so we decided to put it up for a test!

So, why distilled water is not good for drinking?

The first reason is oxidation.

Oxidation

Oxidation is making us rust and age faster. It creates cellular inflammation and it makes us sicker.

A good example of oxidation is this banana:

Do you see how it ages rapidly? That’s what oxidation is doing to our bodies.

To find out if our water is oxidizing our cells, or making us sicker, we’re going to use an ORP meter (oxidation-reduction potential).

Oxidative reduction potential basically shows the water’s ability or inability to reduce oxidation. Any number that is positive means that the water is creating oxidation in your body, thus leading to aging, sickness, and diseases.

That’s a pretty bad result. But what's more that you should know about distilled water?

Acidity

We should consume alkaline and not acidic water.

Why?

Well, acidic water eats out all the electrolytes and minerals that it comes into contact with.

And if there are no minerals to eat, then it will take it from our bodies.

Eczema, brittle bones - osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s are only a few of the diseases causes by lack of minerals.

To test if distilled water is acidic or alkaline, we’re going to use some reagent pH drops. If the color of the water changes to yellow, orange, or red, it is an indicator that distilled water is acidic. On the other hand, blue, light purple, and purple indicate alkaline water.

So, let’s begin with the test.

The distilled water changed it’s color to bright yellow which is a pretty good indicator of acidity.

Continued drinking of this water brings nothing but trouble for your health.

Conclusion

So, distilled water, should we drink it or not?

Absolutely no. Distilled water has other applications and none of those has anything to do with health.

Lack of minerals, nutrients, and present acidity should be a good sign to leave this water to your car and humidifier.
